Silver Nugget with Sapphire

A workshop for those who love the idea of simple yet spectacular jewelry. We melt silver, let it take the shape of a nugget, and transform it into a piece of jewelry with a natural sapphire, created by you.

What we will do in the jewelry course

➤ You receive small pieces of silver that you melt yourself.
➤ When the silver becomes liquid, it naturally gathers into a ball – your silver nugget.
➤ In this nugget, you will embed a natural sapphire of approximately 3 mm, carefully pressed in with tweezers while the silver is still liquid – be careful of thermal shock, so the stone remains intact!
➤ After cooling, the piece is pickled, cleaned, and prepared for finishing.

If you choose to make a pendant, you will learn how to solder a bail onto the nugget.
If you prefer a pair of earrings, you will learn how to cut and solder two posts, attach earring backs, and finish them for a perfect look.

In the end, you decide: silver, oxidized, or gold-plated?
And once we finish them, we’ll take some photos – the perfect memory of your jewelry.

The price includes all materials: silver, natural sapphire, and fastening systems.

During the metal melting process, sapphires may undergo color changes.

I chose to teach out of the need and desire to pass on the information gathered in my 10 years of experience and hundreds of hours of classes and experiments.

I love teaching because I love the idea of a growing and developing community of jewelers. And last but not least, I get a particularly strong personal joy when I see amazing pieces created by a learner using a technique learned in one of my classes.

I think that kind of joy can only be felt by a teacher or a parent.
