Advantages
- Speed: some pieces can be made faster without waiting for the casting process, specific to pieces made by the lost wax technique
- Economy: Can be less expensive in terms of materials, without the need for wax or moulds.
- Authenticity: The ability to create pieces directly from metal can provide a deeper sense of accomplishment and "handmade artistry".
- Tactile Experience: Working directly with metal can provide a deeper understanding of the material.
- Multiple Techniques: Learning to work with metal allows you to experiment with a wider variety of joining and fastening techniques.
Disadvantages
- Technical Complexity: Working directly with metal can be more technical and may require a steeper learning curve.
- Specialized Equipment: Sometimes metalworking techniques may require specialized tools or equipment, the cost of which is high. In this case it will be necessary to call in a jewellery workshop to outsource certain steps: brassing, grinding, sandblasting, plating, etc.
- Less Forgiving: Errors in metalworking can be harder to correct compared to waxing
- Time-consuming: Metalworking can be a lengthy process, especially for the inexperienced.

Teacher
Gabriela Secărea
I chose to teach out of the need and desire to pass on the information gathered in my 10 years of experience and hundreds of hours of classes and experiments.
I love teaching because I love the idea of a growing and developing community of jewelers. And last but not least, I get a particularly strong personal joy when I see amazing pieces created by a learner using a technique learned in one of my classes.
I think that kind of joy can only be felt by a teacher or a parent.
Frequently asked questions

Materials are included in the course price, including a maximum of 15 grams of silver.
Is the course for beginners or for experienced people?
The courses are designed for both beginners and experienced people.
Can I bring my own materials?
The materials are provided by the school and in principle only work with them. There are very few exceptions to this, and these will have to be discussed in advance with the trainer and expressly accepted by him/her.
What is the absence policy?
The absence policy is included in the contract signed between the trainee and the school before the course starts. In principle, an attempt will be made to find a mutually agreed solution between the trainee and the school, so that within a given period of time, the absent hours can be made up.
Will I receive individual feedback?
The assessment method is the piece or pieces completed by the end of the course. These pieces are included in the cost of the course, and the student will be able to take them with him/her at the end of the course.
What will I achieve in the course?
The course is designed to enable you to create at least one final piece of jewellery. Usually however, there is enough time for at least two pieces of silver jewellery.
What support does the school offer after completion?
After completion of the course, the school offers several types of support:
- Course support which is included in the cost of the course and to which students have access from the first day of the course;

Can I sell the piece of jewellery made?
The piece of jewellery made in the course is included in the price of the course and you can do whatever you want with it, including selling it. However, you must take into account the legislation in force concerning the sale of precious metal jewellery.
How do I maintain my tools?
Depending on the type and purpose of each tool, the way to maintain them differs. Much of this information you will learn at the course, and if you have specific questions, our trainers will be happy to answer them.
But what is important to remember: iron or steel tools must be kept in dry environments, electrical components must be connected only to protected and protected sockets, and items that can catch fire must be kept under observation while working with them, or in special storage areas.
What other opportunities does the school offer?
The school also functions as a space for connection between trainees, as well as between trainees and professionals. Also, for those interested, events will periodically be organised, or former trainees of the school will be invited to exhibit.
