Disadvantages
- Steep learning curve: The filigree technique requires a lot of practice and patience to create high-quality pieces.
- Time-consuming: Due to the fine details and manual work, creating a filigree piece can be a very time-consuming process.
- Risk of errors: A small mistake can ruin an entire piece, given the high level of detail and the complexity of the designs.
- Design limitations: Although filigree offers great detailing, the technique has certain limitations in terms of the size and sturdiness of the pieces that can be created.
- Material exclusivity: Filigree is often made with precious metals such as silver or gold, which can increase the cost of the project.
